IRL Nations ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. By using IRL Nations, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
When you create an account, we collect:
IRL Nations requires access to your device's precise location to provide its core gameplay features. We collect:
Location data is continuously processed while the app is in use and periodically in the background. You may disable location access in your device settings, but doing so will prevent core app functionality from working.
Important: When you plant a flag or build a structure, the geographic coordinates of that location are stored and displayed on the shared game map visible to all IRL Nations players. You are solely responsible for choosing where you plant flags and interact with structures. We strongly recommend that you do not plant flags at or near locations you wish to keep private, such as your home, workplace, or school.
If you have planted a flag at a location you no longer wish to be visible, you may delete any structure you originally created at any time from within the app, which will permanently remove it and its location from the map.
IRL Nations does not control and is not responsible for how other users may interpret or act upon location information visible on the game map. You participate in location-based gameplay entirely at your own risk.
We collect data about your in-game activity, including:

We may collect standard technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and service improvement purposes. We do not sell this data.
IRL Nations uses ARKit (Apple's augmented reality framework) when you plant a flag. The AR camera view is used solely to display the flag-planting animation. We do not automatically record, store, or transmit camera images or video from your device. If you choose to submit an AR screenshot for social media featuring, that image is uploaded with your explicit action and stored as described in "Media Submissions" above.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure (PostgreSQL database with row-level security). We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. Temporary data (such as deferred deep link fingerprints) is automatically deleted after 72 hours. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information and associated gameplay data immediately, as described below.

IRL Nations is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
